Tandem Coffee & Wine sits comfortably in Sacramento’s Curtis Park neighborhood, balancing the energy of a neighborhood café with the laid-back feel of a casual wine bar. This hybrid spot caters well to those looking for a quiet place to work or meet friends over a well-crafted espresso—or a glass of something lighter after midday.

The atmosphere here is bright and inviting without feeling overly styled; clean, modern touches keep the space fresh and welcoming, but it steers clear of the typical “hipster” café clichés. Locals appreciate the calm, cozy setting, often choosing Tandem as a midday pit stop or a relaxed spot to get some focused work done thanks to steady Wi-Fi and easy access to outlets.

Coffee lovers will find a thoughtful lineup of espresso drinks made with consistent double shots, striking a nice balance for those who prefer their coffee neither too weak nor overly bitter. Standouts include creative choices like the house-made banana bread syrup in their iced latte or the smoothness of their flash-brewed cold coffee that doesn’t beg for cream. Beyond coffee, the menu offers simple but satisfying hot chocolates, matcha, and chai options, alongside Italian sodas that add a playful fizz to the mix.

What sets Tandem apart is its dual identity: during the day, it functions mostly as a café with quick counter service and approachable food like breakfast roll-ups and sandwiches that have enough flavor to be genuinely crave-worthy. As afternoon turns into evening, the presence of a modest yet well-selected wine list invites a slower pace, making it a nice local spot for a casual glass of wine without the formality or noise of a typical wine bar.

The clientele here tends to be a mix of neighborhood regulars, remote workers, and visitors from nearby schools or events looking for a quiet spot with reliable coffee and a friendly smile. Weekday mornings and early afternoons feel most lively yet unhurried, while later hours attract guests who want to wind down or catch up quietly over a drink.

In short, Tandem Coffee & Wine isn’t just another coffee stop; it fits naturally into the rhythm of Curtis Park life, serving up straightforward drinks and light fare with a welcoming vibe that invites lingering—whether you’re hiding out for an afternoon of study or catching up with friends over a glass of wine.

Great new spot in the neighborhood! Serving coffee, wine, and Italian sodas, which looked amazing. My wine choice was the $8 Acheson, which was delicious and light. Could pound a few, baby! Price for other glasses was somewhere between 10-15 bucks. Cute and bright design, counter-service coffee and wine bar. The owners were great, love having another local option to frequent. Ok also the food looked good but we didn’t get any… but now I’m home and hungry and regretting. C’est la vie!! Will be back!

I was on a walk and this place caught my eye. After my visit I decided I had to go back! The hot chocolate was S tier (and so pretty! Just look at it!!) and the sandwiches are soooooo incredibly good to the point they could be a craving. Also their staff are all really nice!! For a place that recently opened they've really got it all down and did a good job making it feel not too cafe or wine bar, just classy and cozy. Only 2 small nitpicks that didn't even lower the stars given ~ 1) I wasn't told the matcha (and maybe all their drinks?) isn't sweetened. I prefer less sweet anyway and normally expect things too sweet, so it was partially on me for forgetting to ask, but completely unsweetened surprised me! 2) The music was a bit loud and rather upbeat for the chill, social wine/cafe vibe I was expecting. Not bad but I might not go here to read or for quieter/smaller hang outs.

I am not a Sac local but I was visiting for a tournament held at a nearby school and needed somewhere to get some homework done. I went to this place because it was nearby and had outlets/wifi, not expecting anything more than a generic coffee store. I was pleasantly surprised - not only were the vibes inside super calm, relaxed, and cozy, but the staff I talked to were also really nice and helpful. They brought lamps out to the tables when it got a bit darker, the coffee I got was really nice, and I really enjoyed the experience in the middle of a really hectic day. Definitely recommend and thanks for such a great coffee break!

Wonderful, cozy, welcoming esthetic. Very clean and modern but not overly trendy like most cafe cliche themes. The banana bread latte (iced) was wonderful - banana bread syrup is house made and very flavorful! It isnt very sweet, so I personally liked to add a couple of Splenda and cinnamon/nutmeg and it was fantastic. All espresso drinks are pulled standard with double shots, which makes it balanced. They use the good soy milk too (pacific barista blend - iykyk) I definitely will be back to get some remote work done in the Cafe and try one of their other offerings. They had wine as well and TVs which they regularly host themed events, I appreciate that in this day & age. Parking in the back, 1 hr free and is enforced so beware to avoid getting ticketed.

I got the Flash Brewed Ice Coffee and breakfast roll up. I am someone that takes coffee with my cream usually but I did not need to add anything into this one. It was so smooth. The breakfast roll up was delicious and the salsa verde tied it all together. Will definitely be back.

So happy to have a spot like this in East Sacramento. Coffee prices are more than reasonable. I got a small latte for $5 and it was definitely bigger than small. The service was excellent... Thank you Becca! The whole place has an inviting and modern atmosphere. I'm looking forward to checking out their beer and wine selection next time. Great spot!

Excellent new spot to get a coffee! My favorites are a mocha in the morning and the tomato & mozzarella panini for lunch. The pastries are also delicious. Pretty chill atmosphere for meeting friends for coffee or getting a little solo work done. I can usually find a parking spot, but the parking lot does fill up sometimes.

Nice place to chill in the evening, great vibe and good views. Big variety of wines. Tried meat and cheese board.
